6x oyster deals in Amsterdam
For someone who didn’t exactly grow up with a trust fund (and still regularly stares at her empty bank account at the end of the month wondering where the champagne money went), I’ve always had a taste for the finer things in life. Some might call it expensive - I prefer “curated.”
One of my most specific luxuries? Oysters. Preferably accompanied by bubbles. Or mimosas.
Luckily, Amsterdam is full of hidden gems and stylish hotspots where you can indulge without breaking the bank. From elegant brasseries to sexy wine bars, here are my go-to places to slurp - whether you're celebrating something big or simply romanticising a Tuesday.
NEXT NDSM
Lately, I’ve been crossing the IJ a little too often, and not just for the views. NEXT at the NDSM serves €1 oysters every Sunday, paired with mimosas and Bloody Marys for just €7,50. The terrace? Made for people-watching over prosecco. The interior? Like a design magazine come to life.
And if you’re feeling a little extra (aren’t we always?), don’t skip their signature oysters. The Smokey Paloma - mezcal, orange, and rosemary - is basically a cocktail and an aphrodisiac in one. Or try the green tea one, topped with jasmine tea granité, matcha and ponzu. Not part of the deal, but absolutely shucking worth it. (Sorry. Not sorry.)
NEXT - Ndsm-kade 2, Amsterdam
Rayleigh&Ramsay
The hangovers might make me forget, but I always have fun at Rayleigh & Ramsay. Their 100+ wines on tap - yes, like grown-up vending machines - are a dangerous delight. Saturdays are for €1 oysters, and with so many wines to sip, sample and swirl, you’ll end up doing “research” all night long. The rest of the menu? Surprisingly affordable compared to the luxe wine selection and paired to perfection.

ELA Restobar
Located on the ever-buzzing Elandsgracht, ELA is where Mediterranean soul meets Amsterdam cool. Small in size but big on flavour and flair, it’s the kind of spot that fills up fast - and for good reason. From 16:00 on Wednesdays, classic oysters go for €1,50. Pair them with a glass of cava for €8. Or just do what I do and order the whole bottle. Let’s be honest, you were never stopping at one glass.

The Seafood Bar
My oyster era began here - and let’s just say, it’s been downhill for my bank account ever since. The Seafood Bar serves up €1,50 oysters daily between 15:00 and 17:00, and they’re as fresh as you’d hope. Add a glass of Christoffe champagne if you’re in the mood, or go all out with the fruit de mer tower and pretend you’re dining beachside somewhere fabulous. (The fact that you biked here? Irrelevant.)

Maud
New-ish, but Maud has quickly captured the hearts of tout cool Amsterdam (no, not just because of the cute host/co-owner). Every Wednesday, oysters are €2 a piece. The space is sunny, welcoming and always buzzing, with an energy that makes you want to linger long after your glass is empty. Whether you’re tucked inside or perched streetside on Bilderdijkstraat, it’s the kind of spot where a quick wine stop turns into dinner, dessert and “just one more.”

Hendrix
Not your average oyster hotspot - Hendrix is more laid-back bruin cafe than Parisian patio, and that’s exactly the charm. Nestled in Amsterdam West, this neighbourhood fave turns it up every first Saturday of the month when they team up with the Oysterboys. The deal? 12 oysters and a bottle of bubbles for €45. It’s giving local love. It’s giving I-deserve-this. It’s giving… I’ll take two rounds, please.

Know a better oyster deal? Send it my way - for research, obviously.
