6x oyster deals in Amsterdam
One of my most specific luxuries? Oysters. Preferably accompanied by bubbles. Or mimosas.
Luckily, Amsterdam is full of hidden gems and stylish hotspots where you can indulge without breaking the bank. From elegant brasseries to sexy wine bars, here are my go-to places to slurp - whether you're celebrating something big or simply romanticising a Tuesday.

Lisa’s May favourites
Spring in the city, is like falling in love with a stranger you pass on your bike. It’s a moment of pure feelings and sunshine. It’s like everyone crawled out of their apartments and we collectively decided to live our best lives together. Spring has always been my favourite season, and here are some of the things that I love this May. From places to visit in Amsterdam to items that will be a staple in my spring wardrobe.

Crying in front of a kebab shop
Of all the mildly humiliating moments in my life, this one might take gold. I was strutting down Rozengracht in my new pointy-toed kitten heels - the perfect blend of pain and aesthetic - when it suddenly felt like the sidewalk disappeared beneath me. (Which, if you've seen the current state of Rozengracht, isn’t entirely impossible.)

Will I ever become a wine snob?
You can wake me up for a good glass of champagne. Or crémant. I don’t discriminate. (But please don’t offer me prosecco… unless we’re on a budget airline and that’s all they’ve got.) That said, there’s a difference between loving wine and simply perfecting the wine-glass-holding pose for Instagram.

I might have found the best eggs Benedict in Amsterdam
A perfectly poached egg on pillowy bread, crispy bacon sliced thin, and drowned in velvety hollandaise - that’s what eggs Benedict should be. Too often, I’m let down: not enough sauce, thick undercooked bacon or simply a lack of flavour. Not at Prins&Aap though. They have mastered the art of the perfect eggs Benedict - and that’s not the only thing that makes their brunch one of the best in Amsterdam.

The one where they were on a break…
I’ve always loved romanticising my life. Thinking of it like a TV show. Wondering: what would the audience be screaming at me right now? What ships would they have? Never in a million years did I think I'd end up like Rachel in Friendswith a guy telling me he didn’t regret kissing another girl (he actually ‘liked’ it), because ‘WE WERE ON A BREAK’.
And just like that, I was single…
